Our Vision

Welcome to Australia’s first science fiction themed theatre festival, hosted right here in Brisbane.

We are the mothership to a kaleidoscope of theatrical entertainment that reimagines and pushes story-telling into the future and the outer edges of entertainment innovation! Our works immerse and captivate the audience in a genre that is both history and the future.

The Brisbane Sci-Fi Theatre Festival is a non-for-profit event hosted by The S'Witch Collective.

Brisbane Sci-fi Theatre Festival Postponed

TRANSMISSION INCOMING: COVID-19 Dear Brisbane Cadets, it is with deep sadness that we relay this message from the mothership regarding the Brisbane Sci-Fi Theatre Festival 2020 and COVID-19.

Due to increasing concerns regarding COVID-19 and the risk it poses to the health and wellbeing of our artists and you, our faithful and loyal cadets, your captains have made the decision to POSTPONE the Brisbane Sci-fi Theatre Festival until 2021 TBC.

The events that have transpired over the last few weeks seem like nothing short of Science Fiction itself, and while we may feel uncertain and confused in these challenging times, it is important to remember our mission has always been the protection of humanity and the future of theatre.

And while the future may seem unclear right now, we will continue to tell our stories. When the world is raging, the storytellers quench the fire; when fear strikes our hearts, our storytellers inspire us; and when all seems lost, storytellers are the light in the darkness of space.

Our festival may be going into deep space hibernation, but we will return bigger, better, and brighter than before with stories to tell of these harrowing times. We have survived before and we will do it again. Stay strong, cadets, the mothership is watching over you.

Xoxo,

Mothership

Acknowledgement

The Brisbane Sci-fi Theatre Festival would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and present our festival. Firstly to the Jagera and Turrbal people, who are the traditional custodians of the land now known as Brisbane. And to the Central Arrernte People of Alice Springs from where we operate our website and communications.

We would like to pay our respects to all elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge that Aboriginal people have been performing on and caring for these lands for tens of thousands of years.

Always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
